Day 4-We Say Goodbye

We stayed at The Renaissance, that very tall building.  As you can see, it's in the heart of the action. It was a great place to stay.

This morning we actually woke up at 6:30 and decided to get moving. We knew we'd be glad to get home earlier. It was cloudy and raining, so it made sense to start home.

Our route home is going to be different than the trip down.  We're avoiding Ohio and all the construction and traffic, we hope by going home through Indiana instead. It can't be any worse than the way down, so it's worth a try.

Day 3- The Fun Continues

Today we start with breakfast at Biscuits Love.

Their biscuits were delicious, but so were the Bonuts-biscuits fried like donut holes with lemon marscapone filling!

After breakfast we drove over to Belmont University and toured the Belmont Mansion.

Tonight we go back to Pinewood Social with a dinner reservation at 8:15.

Dinner was great! We had a friendly waitress named Sarah. She made some great recommendations.  Our appetizer was goat cheese and a root beer sauce on toast-so delish!  We shared a Wedge salad. And then, we both had the meatloaf with Jalapeno mac and cheese. Mike would probably have ordered something else but Sarah said he'd be jealous of mine so I made him order his own. Dessert capped off dinner- a Nutella mousse with pretzel crust, whipped cream and peanut butter crumbles. It was quite divine. I think by now you can tell that this was my favorite dinner of the trip.

Back on Broadway we stopped in at Rippy's for a couple of songs before calling it a night and heading back to the hotel.

Yes, we had a blast!

Day 2-The Fun Begins

Slept in pretty late this morning.  Here's the view from our room.

We took a cab to Noshville for breakfast. This place was a New York style deli place.

After a delicious breakfast we walked through Vanderbilt University to Centennial Park to see the model of the Parthenon.  Along the way we walked through a music festival with a ton of food trucks.

This beautiful statue of Athena is inside the Parthenon.

From here we called an Uber back to Broadway. Walked down Music Row and stopped at Mike's Ice Cream and Coffee Bar.  It was a yummy snack.

Our next activity was a drive to the movies at Opry Mills to see Pitch Perfect 2. We enjoyed the movie-it was light easy silly entertainment.

For our evening entertainment we went to The Listening Room at 8:30 for the late show and dinner. It's very much like a comedy club but with musicians.  We had chicken and waffles for dinner.

After the show we walked to the WildHorse Saloon again for more music and people watching.

First Night

We had a blast our first night here. We walked down Broadway and 2nd St. and decided we wanted to take a cab somewhere else for dinner.

Our first cab took us to Pinewood Social, which ironically was closed for a private event. Luckily our cab hadn't left and we flagged him down again and had him take us to The Patterson House.

At the Patterson House we found out we would have a 45-60 min wait, and that people weren't leaving. So, by now it's 8:30-9:00, we're starving and starting to get grouchy. We call an Uber to take us to the Whiskey Kitchen.

Once there, the wait is again too long, but there are several other options across  the street. We end up at Adele's. Drinks and dinner. Fantastic!

After dinner we took one last Uber back to Broadway. We decided that Broadway is very much like Burbon St. in New Orleans.  We ended up at the WildHorse  Saloon for one last drink and to hear some live music. It was a great first night.

Lookout Nashville, Here We Come!

It's been a long day in the car. The drive to Nashville has seemed endless. We've run in to slow traffic and major construction slow downs the whole way down. The worst part came when Mike informed me our flight to Europe in July is going to be shorter than this drive. But once we get there we're planning on having a ton of fun!

Finally!
