Lake Tahoe Day 3

Today we were going to go up the gondola and do some hiking and exploring at the top of the mountain. But when we got to the lift, it was closed. Storms were moving in possibly and a decision had not been made yet as to when and if the lift would open. But the ranger thought a decision would be made by noon. So we hung around to see what would happen. Unfortunately, the gondola was staying closed all day. So on to plan B.

We drove to the Tallac Historic Site.  Here we walked along a path and saw the log homes of two wealthy families dating back to the 1920's and 1930's.

The gardens were beautiful as were the views to the lake.

After lunch at the Clearwater Pub and Brewery, we hit the road back to Berkeley.

Back in Berkeley we went to La Mission Mexican Grill for a pretty authentic meal.

Fried plantains and Chris's fish tacos.

Jon's carnitas tacos.

My quesadilla with pork.

Back up the hill to Jon's house to enjoy the view one last time. Jon will be moving in August, so the next time we're out here he'll be in a new place.

Lake Tahoe Day 2

Time to enjoy Lake Tahoe from the lake in a rented boat.

Cruising the lake for 4 hours, a cooler full of water and Subway sandwiches. This is the life.

The first place we head to is Emerald Bay. A beautiful bay with a island and a mansion.

Now this is the way to spend the day!

We really had fun on the lake today.

Before heading back to the hotel for showers, we went to Baldwin Beach where Jon and Chris did an open water swim.

For dinner we went to Artemis Lakefront Cafe for a Greek dinner. We sat outside and listened to live music. We had a fun night.

Lake Tahoe Day 1

The drive to Lake Tahoe about 3 hours.

We made it...

After lunch a bit of a walk exploring around town, we decided to go on a hike. A quick little loop trail to Eagle Falls.  On the way we stopped to check out the views of Emerald Bay.

After the hike it was back to the hotel to shower before our night out. We are going to Harvey's Improv.

Dinner before the show was at Hard Rock Cafe at Harvey's.

Giants Game at AT&T Park

After a leisurely breakfast at Crepevine, we head to the city for the 12:45 start time of the Giants game.

My yummy Santa Fe Crepe with apple chicken sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese.

Wow!  The view from our seats is amazing!  We're in the shade, too, so it's very comfortable.  Granted we are 4 rows down from the very top row, but the view is spectacular and this is what we wanted when we bought these tickets.

And the Giants won 13-8.

Enjoying the views from the stadium.

After the game we went to North Beach for an Italian dinner.

Cafe du Lucchi

Enjoyed a couple Italian beers with dinner tonight.

Left the city to relax on Jon's deck. Got there in time for sunset.

Gorgeous!!  Day is not over yet, though. Still have to make a stop at Fenton's for ice cream sundaes.

And this is how we ended the day...

Yes, as delicious as it looks!! Fenton's Creamery does NOT disappoint.
