Lake Tahoe Day 3

Today we were going to go up the gondola and do some hiking and exploring at the top of the mountain. But when we got to the lift, it was closed. Storms were moving in possibly and a decision had not been made yet as to when and if the lift would open. But the ranger thought a decision would be made by noon. So we hung around to see what would happen. Unfortunately, the gondola was staying closed all day. So on to plan B.

We drove to the Tallac Historic Site.  Here we walked along a path and saw the log homes of two wealthy families dating back to the 1920's and 1930's.

The gardens were beautiful as were the views to the lake.

After lunch at the Clearwater Pub and Brewery, we hit the road back to Berkeley.

Back in Berkeley we went to La Mission Mexican Grill for a pretty authentic meal.

Fried plantains and Chris's fish tacos.

Jon's carnitas tacos.

My quesadilla with pork.

Back up the hill to Jon's house to enjoy the view one last time. Jon will be moving in August, so the next time we're out here he'll be in a new place.
