June 17-18, 2017- Traveling and St. John Day 1

On Saturday, June 17, we left Michigan for St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

 

We connected through Atlanta. Then it was nonstop to St. Thomas. From there we took a ferry to St. John. 

 

 

 

Once we arrived on St. John, we were met by the realtor who we rented our villa from, picked up our rental jeep, and checked in to our villa for the next week. 

 

 

 

 

We were pretty excited by our accomodations. We got here in time for a beautiful sunset!

We spent our first full day, June 18, at Trunk Bay.  We enjoyed the beach, went snorkelimg, and were entertained by the birds. This next shot is the beach from above as we were driving to it. 

 

 

 

This is the same beach we were at with Jon and Chris when we came here on a cruise excursion. 

 

 

 

Now, about those birds. 

 

 

We didnt see this sign until after I had one swoop down from behind me and grab the potato chips from my hand and fly off with them. That one was then followed by about 12 more. It was terrible!!  They kept swarming me thinking I was going to have more.  Later, we watched them steal a taco from these people:

 

 

 

 

After a very fun day at the beach, we went to the grocery store and bought the fixings for a steak dinner on our patio!
