June 21, 2016- Road Trip to Flam

Today was a serious road trip day. An 8 hour drive from Gothenburg, Sweden to Flam, Norway. Along the way we saw a lot of beautiful countryside. Interesting side note, there are a lot of tunnels in Norway. Tunnels that are 2 and 3 miles long and didn't appear to be taking you through a mountain. Some of the tunnels were on the edges of cities and some took you under farm land. The longest tunnel of the day was 25 km!! I was starting to get a bit claustrophobic.

Our drive took longer than expected. There were stops for construction on the two land road, which meant one lane of stopped traffic while the other came through. The payoff came when we arrived though. We are staying at The Flam Marina and Apartments. It's stunning, quaint, and quiet!

The view when I got out of the car.

The view from our porch.

The view from the couch inside the apartment.

A view to the Marina from across the water in the "town", which is really more of a cruise port.

The train we will go on tomorrow morning.
