The bikes down started out steep and scary. So steep that for a while I just walked my bike. I slowly got some nerve back and rode the straightaway and walked the bike on the hairpin turns. The guide at the top said it would get easier and easier as we come down, and that is exactly what happened. It really was a fun way to be immersed in Norway and really see it.
Part way down, we came upon a goat farm. Four young ladies ran it, and had a small food stand selling pancakes, goat cheese, goat salami, and coffee. Well, we couldn't just ride by. We stopped, ordered pancakes and bought a small slab of goat cheese to bring back to our apartment to have with our lunch. While we were eating the goat herd moved into the valley and wandered over to our bikes and settled over the bike trail. It was crazy! They were friendly animals that came right up to us as we rode and were taking pictures of them. We actually got up close and personal with them.
The Narrow Fjord cruise was amazing. We saw so many beautiful landscapes and adorable tiny villages. No wonder this was a bucket list trip!
