Greenbrier - October 6-9, 2016

Thursday- October 6, 2016
It was a beautiful morning to fly to the Greenbrier Resort.
After the quick one hour flight, we found ourselves at the resort and made plans to do the Ride and Drives. First up was the Jeep Off Road Experience.

Mike had fun driving and the driving instructor was impressed with his abilities.

Our second drive was the Fiat Spyder. Mike is very interested in this car.

We had one more experience in a Chrysler 300 that was outfitted to demo self-driving. It was super cool to see this new technology in action. At 70 mph, the driver went to no hands and no feet on the controls making this a level three autonomous car.

With time to spare before dinner, we found ourselves a sunny bench to chill on near the front entrance.

Thursday night dinner was at Kate's Mountain Lodge. Sorry, we have no pictures from this event.

Mike spent the morning in conference sessions. I attended a Delectable Desserts session. Life is good!  I also had a spa appointment for a massage in the afternoon.  Did I mention life is good!  But the real highlight of the day was really the Adient Launch Party.

It was a really fun event. The room had a bartender, wait staff, a piano player, and an "Evening in Tuscany" theme for the food.  And a tent outside for anyone who wanted to take their food and drinks out there.

There was even a table of giveaways...Adient golf balls and an Adient seat made of legos.

After the Adient party, we went to the pirate themed Afterglow party. We weren't there very long before we decided to hit the casino to play some blackjack. We ended up having a full table full of Adient guys and spouses which was a ton of fun. At the end of then night, Mike and I were the last to leave the table. Before cashing in our chips, however, we hit the dance floor in the nightclub that was part of the casino.

On Saturday, Mike went to the morning sessions and I went to a nutrition lecture that was interesting. I met up with him for the keynote speaker, Ted Koppel. After this speech, I did some shopping while Mike attended a speaker luncheon. When he was done he went with me to lunch so I didn't have to eat by myself. The rest of the day was spent chilling until the black tie gala.

The view from our room looked down onto the patio of the room where the Adient party was held.

We were meeting the Adient folks for drinks prior to the dinner. The chairman of the company had a suite that had a bar and snacks so we started the evening there. Here's the view from the window.

From the outside this room is the arched window above this entrance.

Yes, we were spoiled a bit on this trip.

Here's a picture of the ladies.

We had a fun time at the Gala, spent some more time at the blackjack table, but ended up in bed much earlier because we were leaving the hotel at 7:00 the next morning.

Here's a shot from the plane as we were taking off.

Here's some shots as we came in to Detroit.

We took advantage of Willow Run Airport being close to Ypsilanti and went to The Bomber for breakfast.

Mike shared the Capn Crunch French toast with me. It was delicious!  We had a blast this weekend!
