I made it to Rome and look who I hooked up with! It was a long trip and I'm so happy to be back with Mike. I'm pretty tired, but still have a 3 1/2 hour drive to Positano. I didn't sleep much on either of my flights so I hope to crash in the car.
It was dark when we got to our hotel. We're staying at Hotel Poseidon. We have a beautiful view from our balcony. The night view was cool and we're excited to see what it will look like in daylight. The drive to this place was a crazy super narrow one lane (one way) road. As we get close we start worrying about where we're going to park the car. Luckily, the hotel has a garage down the hill and they parked it for us. At one point we were laughing because it felt like we were driving through the middle of a restaurant. After settling in we went to a place close by for dinner. It was called Cafe Positano and was recommended by the guy at the front desk. This narrow area of seating looks down to the rest of the town and the sea. It was a lovely setting. Positano is the birthplace of Limoncello so of course, we wanted out drinks tonight to have Limoncello in them. Our waiter recommended these "spritzers" made with prosecco, limoncello And a splash of sparkling water. They were delicious!
Oh look...
We're eating at the restaurant we drove through earlier. Oh the irony! We started with an appetizer of mozzarella and prosciutto, followed by pasta- spaghetti carbonara for Mike, spaghetti and meatballs for me- although we shared both plates. We completed the meal with dessert- tiramisu.
It's now bedtime- I can't wait to sleep, I'm exhausted!
