Monday, October 24, 2016- Drive to Rome

It was a beautiful sunny morning. Mike patiently waited for me to get ready for breakfast. But it wasn't really a hardship, look at what he was doing:    

 

We had a lovely table at breakfast. 

 

 

Since we had some extra time after breakfast and before checkout, we spent some more time in the lounge chairs. 

 

 

We took a little longer route back to Rome so we could drive along the Amalfi coast. The views were spectacular but the roads were narrow and super curvey. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We got to Rome and checked in to our hotel around 5:30. We have a lovely room in the Stendhal Hotel. 

 

 

 

We walked to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps before getting dinner. 

 

 

 

 

 

We just coincidentally walked passed an alley that led up to a restaurant that Mike had eaten at last week with his work group. He couldn't believe it when he saw it. We had a delicious dinner there. 

 

 

 We decided to have an early night because tomorrow we have an 8:00 am tour of the Vatican.
